Circus Flora Horse Act II, Impressionistic Painting by Daniel Fishback

Circus Flora Horse Act II

I created this painting from photographs that I took at Circus Flora on June 26, 2010. I was one of 40 artists that, for the first time, had the privilege of watching the circus performers rehearse. During this time we set up and created sketches, paintings, and photographs of the rehearsal. We were also privileged to visit the back lot and were granted passes to photograph the live performance. This is the third in a series of paintings from my photographs and sketches of the circus.

Contact the artist, Daniel Fishback for information about this sculpture by email: dfishbac@swbell.net or by cell: 314-276-8880.

Deer Rescued from Ice on Mississippi River - Doe and Fawn Brought to Safety

Photographs by Daniel Fishback
(Click on photos for a larger picture.)

While looking for Eagles on my way to my gallery I spotted what looked like a deer out on the ice. I decided to turn around and go back to see. I began to take some photos with my litttle point and shoot digital camera when a helicopter appeared on the scene and began rescue efforts.

The helicopter is successful in literally blowing the fawn to shore. The fawn was able to get up and get across the highway to safety.
While the helicopter was still trying to get the mother deer moving a man named Ben, the father of Elsah Mayor Lynn Schreiber bravely walked out on the ice to try to rescue the deer.

After a short time members of a local ski team arrived and this gentleman skied out on the ice and to attach a rope to the deer's neck.

The deer is pulled across the ice but cannot get up or support her weight.

Sweet Light on Alton Illinois, Oil Painting by Missouri artist Daniel Fishback

Sweet Light on Alton Illinois

Don't try this at home but...the photo from which this painting was painted was taken from my car while I was driving home from my gallery. I was attracted to the warm light reflecting from the industrial equipment and the old mill. Besides a commission painting that was overdue, this is the first painting I have completed since opening Fishback Gallery the end of October. I'm so glad to be painting again. I finished another painting today that I am excited about. More on that later.

Contact the artist, Daniel Fishback for information about this sculpture by email: dfishbac@swbell.net or by cell: 314-276-8880.
